Pepsi is tight lipped about Sachin Tendulkar continuing as Pepsi's brand ambassador. But they have confirmed that Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid have been dropped. So, as long as a person is in form, he is retained, if he so much as falls a notch lower than expected, he will be thrown out by both the people as well as the brands that they endorse. These cricketers when they are praised to heavens when they do well, should be prepared to face the brick bats too when they dont deliver. The best would be for these to do a Gilchrist and retire before they are thrown out of game.
From the world of Hindi Cinema, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have joined Shahrukh Khan in promoting Pepsi.

There was a debate, last time when India performed very badly, on how the media has always spoiled cricketers in India. Parthiv Patel was the best example. He was a failure all the way, but with media hype perhaps he has made enough money to go on for couple of years.
VP singh, was boosted to the sky as if he was another Jesus Christ, when he dropped out of Rajiv's cabinet. VP's performance was very bad. He was not fit for a PM post. Hardly people remember him now. But media made huge sales!
They just dont care what happens to Indian politics or culture or passion or patriotism, instead they work on converting each opportunity in these areas to make their business. This is not new. It's a known secret.
More than half of all their advertisements are controlled by other countries since the products are from there. They bring in their own culture/outlook/lifestyles into India. Literally being dumped on us. We pay and buy their products and allow them to rape our traditions and cultures!!!
Well, media was after Sania. I wonder why they didnt after PT Usha in her times, atleast not as much as they do with Sania. Glamour is important to them. Its better for Sania to become an actor than play lose shots on the court. But media loves her....somehow she is still in the ads.
My thoughts are very much the same as what you have written. :)
